What makes my jewellery from simple comme bonjour so special?

  • At Simple comme Bonjour every piece is made with love and by the hand of recognised goldsmith Inneke Goyvaerts and her team. She designs and handcrafts her jewellery, piece by piece, in her own studio in Belgium.

  • Inneke has over 15 years of experience. Dedicated to lifelong learning, she regularly takes part in workshops and training courses to fully master every new technique and further broaden her knowledge.

  • Her collections are crafted in small editions, in which every piece preserves its own identity. In this, there are three options to arrive at a unique piece of jewellery.

    • You have found a piece that is precisely to your liking in our collection.

    • You would like to make some subtle changes to an item in our collection.

    • You engage master goldsmith Inneke to create a unique design for you, in accordance with her style and expert craftsmanship.

What materials are your jewels made of?

  • All items in the Simple comme Bonjour collection are made using 14K gold (yellow, white and rose), brilliants, diamonds, semi-precious and precious gemstones and freshwater cultured pearls. Quality is our highest priority. We no longer use Sterling silver as this is not strong enough.

  • In some cases, we can reuse existing jewellery. Please understand that we don’t fuse (melt) jewellery. If the basis of the piece you want altered is suitable, we can use this as a starting point for a new design, on the basis of our collection. We never offer lifelong warranty for pieces made from old gold as we don’t now its origin and therefore its composition.

How do i take care of my jewellry?

Simple comme Bonjour chooses to work with high-quality materials to make its refined jewellery. These are strong enough to take a punch, but by taking care of it your jewellery in right way you can enjoy it as long as you live. Here are a few golden tips:

  • Gold can be worn always and everywhere: through wind and weather and while working out, swimming, bathing and showering. Exerting great pressure on a piece of jewellery, however, will obviously cause it to deform or break.

  • Pools, beaches and perfume are better avoided with silver jewellery.

  • Storing silver jewellery in your bathroom isn’t the best idea either: heat and steam can cause any dirt that remains on your jewellery to have a life on its own, resulting in tarnish.

Do you also repair jewellery?

Our jewellery is made with great care to ensure the highest standard of quality. However, in rare cases, we may not be able to avoid a mishap. Therefore, we are more than happy to offer you our repair services. Because every piece comes from our own studio, it can nearly always be fixed. Prices for repairing silver jewellery start at 15 euros, repairing gold jewellery is free (under normal usage). Size adjustments start at 35 euros (depending on the size difference, if there are any gemstones, etc. ). Send us your piece of jewellery, or get in touch with us. We will be happy to have a look at it.

Additionally, you can always adjust the size when confirming your order. An extension of 5 cm (at most) can be added separately.

  • If this concerns a custom work, we will retain the size with which you have provided or which we have measured together. If you wish to change the size afterwards, this will be at your own expense.

What is the delivery time?

  • As every design is hand-crafted in our own studio, delivery strongly depends on how busy it is at that particular point in time. It can get extremely busy from May until August, sometimes resulting in delays from one up to several weeks.

  • On average, a piece of jewellery with a fingerprint on it takes around 3 weeks to make from the date on which the print was taken.

  • Designs from our collection (with minor adjustments) can generally be delivered within 10 days. Please note that an exception applies to jewellery with a milgrain or sunken setting. For this you should count 3 weeks.

  • Orders are processed in order of request and according to the availability of the necessary material.

  • Wedding rings take 4 to 6 weeks to fashion, and you should count on 2 to 6 weeks for an engagement ring. Please note that delivery times only commence after the final approval has been given.

  • Please let us know if you need a piece faster than our average delivery time. We will look into the possibilities.

Can you make new jewellery from old gold?

  • In some cases, we can reuse existing jewellery. Please understand that we don’t fuse (melt) jewellery. If the basis of the piece you want altered is suitable, we can use this as a starting point for a new design, on the basis of our collection. We never offer lifelong warranty for pieces made from old gold as we don’t now its origin and therefore its composition.

  • We don’t reuse old silver, as the cost of production often is much higher than the value of the silver itself.

What warranty does Simple comme Bonjour offer?

  • We give a lifelong warranty with our gold jewellery, provided it is used correctly. Sawing through your ring, putting it under extreme pressure or frequently exposing it to acids are examples of incorrect usage.

  • We do not provide warranty for reused jewellery, unless we have your gold tested by a laboratory beforehand. In consultation with you, the surcharge for this is at your own expense and starts at 200 euros.
